Congrats Brit; Shame On Long Island

Although yet again, this is not a celebrity, I felt that I needed to make a post about this. On "Black" Friday, a Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death by a mob of frenzied shoppers in Long Island.

In addition to the death of the 34-year-0ld Jdimytai Damour, four shoppers - including a woman eight months pregnant - were injured.

I feel that this tragic event is so sad. Trampled by shoppers? What could these people needed so badly that someone needed to die? What item is really worth that much? The people involved should be ashamed of themselves. My thoughts are with Damour's friends and family.

In happier news, Britney Spears recently made her European comeback. Her performance on X-factor was her first in four years.

Watch her performance below:

World's Oldest Woman Dies

Although, not necessarily a celebrity, here is some interesting news.

The world's oldest person, Edna Parker, died at the age 115 Wednesday. The Indiana woman was born April 20, 1893 and has been the oldest person according to the Guinness World Records since Yone Minagawa of Japan died in 2007. He had been four months older. Parker lived to be 115 years and 220 days old.

Tips to live longer? She gave none. However, she never drank alcohol, never tried tobacco and lived an active life.

Get Over Yourself 2

Ego-blown Kanye West needs to get over himself - like fo' real. He stated in an interview last Wednesday that he would "go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade" and that he is "settling into that position of just really accepting that."

Really?

Then again, West has always had this type of attitude. For example, last year he suggested the color of his skin was the reason pop princess Britney Spears got to open the MTV Video Music Awards that year instead of himself.

Hm, well... Lets take a look at Brintey's history: Since 1999 she has had seven #1 hits, four #1 albums (two of which are Diamond records), has sold over 83 million units worldwide and is the 8th best-selling female recording artist in the United States according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Not to mention she's been one of the most talked about celebrities in recent years, including being the most searched celebrity online ever.

Really, who is more successful?

Get Over Yourself

So the talentless Jennifer Aniston graces the cover of the latest issue of Vogue magazine. In an interview she says that what Angelina Jolie did was "very uncool." For those who forgot, since it seems like it happened ages ago, Angie has frequently been tossed the blame for ruining the relationship between Aniston and hottie Brad Pitt. Later in the interview Aniston claims that the break up is "so vague at this point" and that she  "can't even remember the darkness." Pleassssssse... If that were true, then why the f*ck is she bringing it up again now? Does anyone even care what Jennifer Aniston does these days? Get over yourself. You will never be better than Angelina Jolie.

LISTEN: Funhouse

Don't let the title fool you, there's really nothing "fun" about Pink's fifth studio album - that's not to say the ballad-heavy CD isn't worth a listen, though.

There is no doubt that the divorce from motocross racer Carey Hart took its toll on the 28-year-old singer. The breakup had an obvious influence on Pink's latest album "Funhouse."

The first line of the lead single, "So What," she sings, "I think I just lost my husband, I don't know where he went." This heartbroken theme carries through the entire album.

With a title like "Funhouse," one might think the album would be filled with dance and up-tempo tracks. This, however, is not the case. Instead, "Funhouse" strays away from the pop-rock vibe of her past couple of CDs and explores a deeper and more raw Pink.

Songs such as "I Don't Believe You" have beautiful, heartfelt lyrics unveiling Pink's softer side. Having co-written every track on the album, Pink does show personal growth and maturity in her lyrics. Listeners will be able to tell each song came from the heart.

"Bad Influence," "Funhouse," and "It's All Your Fault" are a few of the only tracks that seem to stay true to the album's title. These upbeat songs with catchy lyrics are sure to get stuck in the listener's head.

While no track stands out as being amazing, there are not any painfully bad songs either. Every song has potential to do well and is quite likable. Pink's vocals are strong and shine particularly in the ballad "Glitter In The Air."

A deluxe version of the album has also been released and includes two bonus tracks and the official music video for "So What." The extra tracks are just as good as the ones that made the standard version.

As a whole, Pink certainly satisfies. While "Funhouse" does not highlight her vocal abilities, it does focus on her impeccable song writing skills and her talent of flawlessly incorporating her emotions into her music.

Grade: B

Dear America

Barack Obama is to become the 44th president of the United States, making him the first black president in the nation's history. Obama captured his victory after receiving 349 electoral votes compared to runnning mate John McCain's 147.

It feels great to be a part of this historic time.

America, are you ready for change?

I am.
