Hills 5 Season To Be Last

According to reality TV star Lauren Conrad, the upcoming 5th season of The Hills will be its last. Conrad says that she gave MTV a deadline and wants to walk away from the show while it is "still a great thing." Personally, I don't really remember it ever being a great thing, and I hear its spin off show that premiered in 2008, The City featuring Hills star Whitney Port, isn't much better.

I'm not sure how other people feel, but I'm getting tired of reality shows recycling the same few people over and over again. Perhaps Flavor of Love is the biggest culprit, as it resulted in (too) many different spin off shows including: I Love New York, Charm School, I Love Money and Real Chance At Love. Another, Laguna Beach, went on to be shows such as: The Hills, The City and Bromance. Can't we get some new reality TV stars please?

Rihanna Photo & Father's Opinion

TMZ recently released a photograph of Rihanna "taken after Chris Brown allegedly beat her." Her father Ronald Fenty, who describes the photo as "disturbing," has mixing feelings about its release. He does feel though, according to US magazine, that the photo will help people "grasp of the situation a lot better." Prior to the release of the photo, it was sketchy on the seriousness of the pop star's injuries. Thursday the Los Angeles Police Department launched an internal investigation to determine who leaked the photo. In a released statement, the LAPD said, "A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination."

Disney's Black Princess

I started hearing about this quite some time ago, but this is the first time I've seen any article about it recently. Tony award-winning actress, Anika Noni Rose, will be the voice of Princess Tiana, Disney's first black princess. The 36 year-old, who costarred in Dreamgirls in 2006, is currently working on the film titled The Princess and the Frog. Set in New Orleans, Rose also points out that it is the first American Princess. Princess Tiana's mother is to be voiced by Oprah Winfrey.

Disney's Princesses include other multi-culture backgrounds such as Jasmine from the Middle East, Mulan from China and Pocahontas who is Native American.

Celebs Sound Off

US Magazine collected various celebrities thoughts on the Rihanna/Chris Brown situation. Here is what they had to say:

CARRIE UNDERWOOD
"I don't think anybody actually knows what happened. I have no advice because, thank goodness, I've never been in any kind of abusive situation. You hear a new one every five minutes, and some of them are getting kind of ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who's involved figure out everything first."

JAY-Z
"This is a real situation. You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."

KELLIE PICKLER
"I think the world would be a better place if people worried more about what they needed to do to be better people, than ... judging others on what kind of people they are. I don't know what really went on with Rihanna and Chris, and I don’t think anyone else does, either. The only people who really, truly know are only the two of them, so I am not going to assume or comment. I'm going to mind my own business."

HEIDI MONTAG
"I don't know what happened there, but our thoughts and prayers go out to both of them. It’s such a crazy situation. I hope everything heals. I don't know what to say."

UGLY BETTY'S MARK INDELICATO
"I don't really know that much about it. I think that doing that to a woman is wrong in any way. It doesn't matter who did it to you. But, you know, I don't know that much about it, so I can't really comment too much on it."

LINDSAY LOHAN
"I have no comment on that. That's not my relationship. I have no reason to speak about it. I think they're both great people."

LUPE FIASCO
"They are great live and both are good people. It's a tragedy."

MOLLY SIMS
"It's so sad. I don't think anybody knows the whole truth, but I guess the truth really doesn't matter when [abuse] is the result. That should never happen, no matter what. And I love his music. That being said, I think [about] Rihanna: No girl, no woman, no mother, no sister, no friend, no one deserves that. Absolutely."

NIA LONG
"I know both of them well. They're young, and all we can do is pray for them at this point."

RUBEN STUDDARD
"I'm still praying for him. Everybody always has something negative to say about everything, and I always try to be positive. They've both made wonderful careers for themselves, and I think they will continue to do so for the rest of their lives."

MARY J. BLIGE
"They're both young and beautiful people, and that's it."

MARK CURRY
"Women, throughout history, have been beaten and prostituted. Even today in movies and music, they're portrayed as low-grade, so you know, he's a youngster, and he can correct his ways. It's just a tragedy - women and abuse."

Ew

Couple Paul Daniels (70) and Debbie McGee (50) stripped down in a horridly failed attempt at recreating David and Victoria Beckham's ads for Emporio Armani. Can't say it worked. . . Fake tattoos and a pair of underwear does not make this man look anything like the sexy soccer pro. Daniels claimed in a blog, his wife looked better than Madonna. Again - wrong. . . Anyway, the spread is to appear the current issue of Closer magazine. Now to adjust your eyes, here's the original of David and Posh Spice.

Chris Brown Statement

R&B singer, Chris Brown, addresses some of the rumors of the Rihanna incident in this statement for People Magazine. For more news on this issue, read my previous posts here and here. I don't know about everyone else, but I am really anxious for the truth to come out.

Seriously?

For Valentine's Day I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic (which I'll discuss in a later post), but before they started the movie there was a preview that made me go: . . . .Seriously??

Apparently, there's going to be a Hannah Montana movie. The whole preview was like: Way to make a movie just to promote your music. . . Maybe I don't understand the whole Hannah Montana concept, but it seems like it's just a movie about Miley Cyrus and she's staring in it. . . I was really confused. How are you going to make a movie about yourself?

Watch: Bottle Pop

First of all, I'm not sure how long the video will work because The Pussycat Dolls have not officially released it yet, but here is the music video for their current single Bottle Pop. The video uses a different version of the song that I have seen them use when they perform the hit. It begins differently and does not include Snoop Dogg, which makes me wonder why he's on the album version since he doesn't really add anything special to the song. Perhaps his lines aren't TV appropriate? Whatever the reason, the song is actually better without him. The video, however, could have had a little more effort put into it. It's quite disappointing.

Chris Brown Speaks Up

R&B singer Chris Brown made his first statement about the incident between him and Rihanna via Facebook. According to an article, he has changed his relationship status to single and posted "You'll begin to see her true colors. Believe it!" For more details click here.

Thank Goodness

Finally American Idol got some sense and determined contestant Joanna Pacitti is disqualified from the singing competition. Although, FOX didn't officially announce the reason for her departure, it is probably because of this controversy. On that note, however, to my surprise I discovered that American Idol only requires contestants to not have any current recording or talent management agreements when they audition -- not that they never have signed a professional agreement. So much for the best undiscovered talent. . . Felicia Barton, 26, will be replacing Pacitti for this season's Top 36 semifinalists.

Rihanna Update

Pictures that claim to show Rihanna's bruised face from the incident with boyfriend Chris Brown are fake. TMZ reports that they were photoshopped. In related news, apparently Rihanna's friends were concerned about her relationship with Brown back in December when she appeared to have bruises on her neck, suggesting that Brown had hit her back then as well. My thoughts are with Rihanna and I hope the complete story is eventually uncovered about their fight. I've heard everything from it was because Rihanna wanted to take a different car to Rihanna being crazy to Chris was flirting with Paris Hilton to Rihanna giving Chris Brown herpes that she got from Kayne West... What's the real story?

Controversy Is Her Middle Name

Oops she did it again! I can't believe 15-year-old Hannah Montana star, Miley Cyrus, hasn't learned yet that photographs are not her friend. You'd think she would have learned her lesson when the underwear pics surfaced sometime ago, but the actress/singer is at again.

The clothes say on this time, however, as Cyrus and some pals mimic Asian people in her latest controversial photo.
