AMA Recap

A lot happened last night at the American Music Awards.

Michael Jackson broke the record for the most AMAs held by a single artist after winning two awards. Country fave Taylor Swift won Artist of the Year. But perhaps more interesting than the actual awards were the performances and outfits...

Lady Gaga wore a tight see-through ensemble complete with blinking lights while singing "Bad Romance" and new single "Speechless." Am I the only one who looks for a penis every time she performs?

Jennifer Lopez made her come back (who knew she was making music?) by performing her new song. Although she falls on her butt around 2:59, she makes a quick recovery.

Many other artists including Kelly Clarkson and Janet Jackson had memorable performances. Fellow American Idol alum Adam Lambert closed the show. Lambert has created quite a stir with the stuns he pulled, including rubbing a male dancer's face into his crotch, grabbing a female dancer's crotch and having a brief makeout session with a male keyboardist... Way to have a positive rep for the gays, Lambert... NOT!

Bad Photoshop?

It is not a secret that magazines photoshop their covers. However, on Demi Moore's W cover, it appears someone did not do a very good job. It looks as though a chunk of Moore's hip is missing. See a close up image here. Moore denies this, tweeting, "Here is the original image people my hips were not touched don't let these people bullshit you!"

Underwood = Mini Kayne?

This year at the CMA Awards, 19-year-old Taylor Swift won all four awards that she was nominated for including the highest honor: Entertainer of the Year. Some artists, such as Wynonna Judd, seem bitter about Swift's success and said it is too soon for her to receive such an award. Others, such as co-host Brad Paisley, tried to praise the young singer. However, in a Kayne-esque manner, fellow co-host Carrie Underwood interrupted asking the audience "And how were we? We were awesome!" What's with all the hate for Taylor? Jealous much?

That Jay-Z Song Wasn't On...

Surely you've heard the popular tune "Party in the USA" by pop star Miley Cyrus. In the song, Cyrus sings that she dances in the taxi cab to a Jay-Z. However, the starlet admits that she's never even heard a Jay-Z song... Apparently, she doesn't listen to pop music and that the song (Party in the USA) isn't her style...

Does she realize that she is a pop star? Or that pop music is her style of music? What else would she be?

Creepy Ashlee

Singer/Actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was recently released from the CW show "Melrose Place." Lots of rumors have been circling as to why she was let go and have ranged from being a diva to not being able to act. Apparently, they had picked Simpson-Wentz to do the show so that there would be a familiar name. However, now that they've cut her, they'll be able to afford Heather Locklear to reprise her role from the original show.

Here's a clip of Simpson-Wentz's superb acting abilities. It's interesting how her eyes get so wide and she never blinks...

"All I Ever Wanted" Tour

The original American Idol proved on her "All I Ever Wanted" Tour at the Fox Theatre Oct. 25 that she is one of the best in the business. While she does not dance like others who are popular in the music industry such as Britney Spears or the Pussycat Dolls, Kelly Clarkson does bring something special to her performances.

Opening with the title track from her fourth album, "All I Ever Wanted," Clarkson was a crowd-pleaser time and time again singing songs from all four of her albums. In addition to those, she also did a few covers including songs by White Stripes and Patsy Cline. Given her performances featured on the first season of American Idol, it was expected that she wouldn't lack in the vocal department and she surely delivered. However, there was something that was somewhat of a surprise.

Her down to earth nature made the concert almost like watching a best friend rocking out on stage rather than a celebrity. She seemed so friendly and relatable. Little things like taking a shot or two of Chivas Regal before singing "Chivas," a hidden track of her third album, made her that much more "human" in a sense. It's that refusal to fall into an obsession with fame that prevents Clarkson from becoming a diva. Ultimately, it is clear she holds a special place in her heart for her fans.

It was Clarkson's antidotes in between her performances really created a special connection with her fans. One in particular she shared was while watching Smallville on her tour bus the previous night, she heard gunshots thinking it was simply the movie that was being filmed close to her hotel. Despite seeing extras running, she thought nothing of it and returned to Smallville, only later to find out that the gun shots were real. While the experience was somewhat scary, she too found the humor in it.

Fans that attended the event were also quiet enjoyable to watch. From the Sarah Palin look-alike to the man sleeping occasionally all contributed to making the concert going experience a great time. Clarkson closed the show with "My Life Would Suck Without You" bringing the audience their feet for one last hurrah!

According to the New York Post actress Lindsay Lohan caused a scene at the G-Star runway show Tuesday. Apparently the 23-year-old was unhappy with the seating arrangements and decided to move them around or throw them on the floor. I don't know what she expects when no has really talked about her since her split from DJ Samantha Ronson and the fact no one's watched her movies since Mean Girls. Perhaps instead of creating chaos, Ms. Lohan should put her energy into making decent movies again.

Speaking of Lindsay, recent reports that she is in the hospital are false. Lohan Tweeted, "Hahahaha my publicist just called me & said she heard I was in a psych ward!!!! Hahaha WHAT IS WRONG with people???? I'm working lol." The actress has been shooting an upcoming thriller Machete with Robert DeNiro and Jessica Alba.

Also, her manager-mom Dina is working on launching LohanHouse.com -- a Web site that will dispel rumors about herself and her children.

Kayne=Ass, Beyonce=Class

By now I'm sure everyone has heard about the stunt Kayne West pulled last night at the MTV VMAs. When teen singer Taylor Swift was accepting her award for Best Female Video, West rushed up on stage. According to an article featured by The Insider, Swift was initially excited to see West. Obviously, that quickly changed when he took the mic and said that Beyonce deserved the award. What an ass... Beyonce ended up winning Video of the Year anyway, so perhaps Kayne should have been a little bit more patient... But Beyonce did show some class by inviting Taylor back on stage when she accepted her award so that Swift could finish her acceptance speech.

DeGeneres Becomes A.I. Judge

As much as I love Ellen DeGeneres, I'm not quite sure what exactly qualifies her to be the new fourth judge of American Idol. Sure she's guest judged on shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and was some-what funny, but she really didn't add anything to the program. And since she actually dances on her talk show, yet has no music experience what-so-ever I can't imagine she'd be much better on Idol. Hef Was Married???

Apparently, Hugh Hefner is getting a divorce. The Playboy magazine founder filed court documents last week to end his marriage with former Playmate Kimberley Conrad. The couple were married in July 1989, but separated in January 1998. According to Hef, 83, he remained with the former Playmate for the sake of their two sons who live next door to the famed Los Angeles Playboy mansion.

Boyle's On Top!

She may not have won Britian's Got Talent earlier this year, but she has certainly won the hearts of thousands. Recently Susan Boyle's debut album topped the record sales on Amazon.com. Did I mention that the CD, titled I Dreamed A Dream, won't even be released until Nov. 24? Thanks to the number pre-order sales, the 48-year-old Scottish singer has managed to even stop comeback diva Whitney Houston from reaching the top spot. Boyle is currently working on the album.

LISTEN: Breakthrough

Following the success of her debut, Colbie Caillat proves she has lasting potential with her latest album Breakthrough.

Although it has more of a pop flair than her 2007 album Coco, Breakthrough delivers the same breathy vocals and soothing melodies that make fans know and love. The first single "Fallin' For You" has one of those happy upbeat vibes that Caillat is known for. "Fallin' For You" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #12, making it her second most successful single.

Throughout the album Caillat collaborates with frequently with songwriters Jason Reeves and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi. In fact, "Droplets" her duet with Jason Reeves is another highlight from Breakthrough. However, like her debut, no song really fails to please the ears.

A deluxe edition of Breakthrough has also been released, featuring 5 bonus tracks. Caillat never seems to disappoint as each track causes listeners to melt in their seats. Her easy going tunes are definitely number one in my heart.

DJ AM Dies At 36

DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, was found dead in his New York apartment yesterday. Police believe that it was due to a drug overdose. Goldstein had Tweeted Thursday "New York, new york. City of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems." It's sad that he passed at such a young age, especially after he survived that plane crash along with Travis Barker in 2008. Kid Rock Helps Arts, Beats & Eats

Kid Rock decided to sponsor the Big 3 music stage at this year's Arts, Beats & Eats Festival. The annual event began having financial problems after losing Chrysler, a major sponsor. The singer, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, will not be performing at the festival, but his clothing company Made in Detroit is happy to support the event. Arts, Beats & Eats will take place over Labor Day weekend.

Weirdest Casting Ever?

Director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) has started working on a new film titled "Machete." The movie is said to have the "weirdest" set of cast members ever! The cast includes stars such as: Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Don Johnson.

According to the Yahoo! article, the film is about: "Machete (Trejo), a former Mexican Federales, is hired to assassinate a corrupt senator (De Niro). But then he is double-crossed and pursued by a government agent (Alba). Lohan plays a gun-wielding socialite who comes to Machete's aid, and Seagal plays a drug lord from his past."

Abdul Update

Those saddened by the news that Paula Abdul announcing that she would be leaving American Idol, might not have to miss the former judge for long. Seems all kinds of offers have been flying her way including a spot on The View, a judge on Dancing With the Stars and a choreographer & judge of So You Think You Can Dance. Perhaps leaving Idol is what's best for her, the show seems so tired to me these days anyway.

America's Favorite Dancer Is...

After a record-breaking amount of votes, Jeanine Mason took the title of America's Favorite Dancer on tonight's results show of So You Think You Can Dance. Fans of the series don't have to wait until next summer for the new season. Season six of the dance competition will debut this fall.

Abdul Leaves "Idol"

For the first time since the show's debut in 2002, singer Paula Abdul will not be returning to American Idol as a judge for its ninth season.

She Tweets, "With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to #Idol. I'll miss nurturing all the new talent,but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon."

Prior to her announcement Tuesday, there was much in the news about Abdul's negotiations with Idol producers. Radar Online reported she was asking for $20 million when Idol was only willing to offer half that amount.

A familiar face will be returning, however. Kara DioGuardi, who was added to the judging panel last season, will be coming back to the show.

Host Ryan Seacrest also will be returning thanks to his new $45 million contract for three more years, making him the highest paid host on reality TV.

PS2 Outselling Newer PS3

Even the video game industry is being effects from the troubled economy. Sony is seeing a drop in sales for a couple of its products such as the Playstation 3 (from 1.6 million to 1.1 million) and its PSP (from 3.7 million to 1.2 million.) Despite this news, one product is really shining.

The Playstation 2 sold about 500,000 more units than the PS3. The nine year-old system is priced at $99, which happens to be much less than competitive systems. The X360 is $199. The Nintendo Wii is $250. As for the Playstation 3? $399.

PS2 offers a large amount of highly-rated games and the ability to play DVDs, which out shines the PS3 ability to play Blu-Ray technology (which who can afford anyways?). It'll be interesting to see what happens next in the gaming world.

Halloween may still be a few months away, but it's always a good idea to plan ahead. So what's this year's hottest Halloween costume? Kate Gosselin.

For only $14.99, a wig resembling her asymmetrical hairdo can be purchased online. The "Eight Is Too Much Adult Wig" is "sleek and so stylish" that it "will make people think you have eight children," according to its product description.

Kelly Clarkson Vs. Beyonce

Here is the video for Kelly Clarkson's new single "Already Gone." I personally think it is a beautiful song with touching lyrics. However, there is some controversy where people claim Clarkson stole the song from Beyonce. And while "Halo" does sound like "Already Gone," it's because the same (lazy) person produced both songs and Beyonce's was released first. I'd hate for this to destroy the potential success of Clarkson's song especially since I think it's better done than "Halo," but in an overrated world where Beyonce is treated like she's the only person in the universe who can actually sing, perhaps Clarkson is in a bit of trouble. Ryan Tedder (of One Republic) produced both Clarkson's and Beyonce's song. What I've been hearing is that he worked with Clarkson first and she had written her song before he worked with Beyonce. Rumor also has it that Clarkson later tried to stop the release of the song, but couldn't.

Holmes on SYTYCD

During last Thursday's So You Think You Can Dance results show, actress Katie Holmes paid tribute to Judy Garland. Her performance helped raise the ratings 17 percent for the dance competition's 100th episode. She sang and danced to bring light to a charity she supports called the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which improves and increases access to dance education in the United States. Although Holmes has received mixed reviews, judge and executive producer of the show Nigel Lythgoe believes she shouldn't be judged on her dancing since she has had no formal training.

Taco Bell Chihuahua Dies

¡Yo Quiero Taco Bell! The adorable chihuahua best known for appearing in Taco Bell advertisements died. Gidget, PEOPLE reports, died from a stoke on Tuesday. She was 15 years old.

Mischa Barton Placed Under Psychiatric Hold

Former O.C. star Mishca Barton has been placed under involuntary psychiatric hold according to Access Hollywood. The 23-year-old actress is being held at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. PEOPLE confirms that Barton called the police Wednesday at 3 p.m. with a health problem. Then she was assisted with a medical issue and removed from her home. No paramedics were involved and no arrests were made.

'Harry Potter' Scores $22 Mill

The latest Potter film earned $22.2 million for its midnight debut, making it the biggest midnight gross of all-time. The Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was shown in 3,003 runs Wednesday morning. Its earnings beat out past top money-makers such as "The Dark Knight," which earned $18 million and "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith," which made $17 million for its midnight run.

Ryan Seacrest = $$$$

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has tripled his earnings since signing a new three-year agreement with CKX, parent of Idol producer 19 Entertainment. With this $45 million deal, Seacrest will now make $15 million per year for the hit show - the highest-rated on television. Previously, he made slightly less than $5 million per season. This new deal is believed to be the richest ever for a reality host.

Mind you, this deal is only for Idol and doesn't include Seacrest's numerous other money-making projects. Seacrest has a separate cable deal with Comcast. He is also E! Entertainment's lead anchor and produces shows such as E!'s "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." He has an upcoming Jamie Oliver reality series in the works for ABC as well. Not to mention his 102.7 KIIS FM gig.

I like a man who can make some dolla-dolla.

Let's Try Again...

In a recent US magazine article, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says that Twilight actor Robert Pattinson is the "better" sex symbol. Rewind... Honestly, I don't find either of them very attractive. I don't understand why just because you're in a popular film, all the sudden you're "sexy." Radcliffe looks awkward and his eyebrows remind me of caterpillars. Pattinson on the other hand kind of resembles a druggie, like a male Amy Winehouse.

Personally, I'd take Ryan Reynolds over either of them any day!

P.S. Reynolds has been cast to play the title role in "Green Lantern."

According to Transformers director Michael Bay, actress Megan Fox "says some very ridiculous things." Turns out he's right! Apparently the 23-year-old recently ranted about Bay for focusing more on special effects than on acting according to an US magazine article. It boggles my mind when people talk trash about others who gave them their careers. No one would know who Megan Fox was if Bay had not casted her into the Transformers movies and who says she really can act anyways... Megan Fox, get over yourself!

RIP Micheal Jackson

At the age of 50, the 'King of Pop' Micheal Jackson has died reportedly from cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009. Earlier today fans gathered at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles where Jackson was taken after collapsing at his home. He will be greatly missed.

Chris Brown Pleads Guilty

R&B singer Chris Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna. The former couple were also ordered to stay away from each other. Brown will not go to prison, but will be ordered to clean up graffiti or roadside trash. Read all about yesterdays court case here.

Seascrest & Lohan Plan New Show

Apparently Ryan Seacrest is planning a new reality series featuring Lindsay Lohan. TMZ.com reports that it will feature real people who are heading down the wrong track and will be given $1 million for a second chance. 

Seacrest Twitters Thursday, "Met with Lindsay last night about a show idea I have for her…it helps people and gives others a second shot!”

Lohan seems excited about the project. "Working on a really great project for television -- I am excited!" she Twittered on Friday. "Something meaningful like Extreme Home Makeover on ABC… :)"

This project will add to Seacrest's production credits which already include MTV's Bromance, E!'s Denise Richards: It's Complicated and Keeping Up With The Kardashians and NBC's Momma's Boys.

Girl Gets Last Wish

Ten-year old Colby Curtain was diagnosed in December 2005 with vascular cancer. Her dying wish was to see Pixar's Up! which is currently in theaters. The company then sent out an employee with a DVD version of the film for a private viewing at the girl's home in Huntington Beach. Seven hours after viewing the movie, Curtain died. Thank Goodness!!

An US magazine article reports that the number of viewers of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 has plummeted in recent weeks. The show, which attracted 9.8 million viewers May 25 for its fifth season premiere, only brought in 2.9 million viewers for its episode Monday. The episode before that, only 4.3 million viewers. Perhaps interest in this tabloid hungry couple is finally dying down? Thank goodness!! I'm getting so tired of seeing Kate Gosselin's face everywhere!

LiLo Steals Jewelry?

Scotland Yard is investigating the disappearance of $400,000 worth of Dior jewels from an Elle UK photoshoot. Actress Lindsay Lohan was the last one seen wearing the diamond earrings and necklace. Her rep says that everyone from the shoot is being questioned and that Lohan is happy to cooperate. The magazine shoot was on June 6 and the missing jewelry was reported on June 8. According to People.com, Elle says they has no reason to believe Lohan is responsible for the missing jewels.

Gibson's GF Debuts Song

Russia-born singer/pianist Oksana Grigorieva debuted her first single "Say My Name" today exclusively on PEOPLE.com. Up until now, the 39-year-old has been in the news for being pregnant with Mel Gibson's child. She and Gibson wrote "Say My Name" together and it is due to appear on her album "Beautiful Heartbreak." Lulu Guinness, a British handbag designer, sports a lips clutch to accessorize her homemade dress. It's kind of ugly and tacky. At the same time, there is something cute about it.

Lambert Confirms Rumors

An US magazine article says that American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert confirms that he is gay in the current issue of Rolling Stone (on stands June 10). It's really not that big of a deal and its not like it was a mystery which is why I waited to post about it. But I'll use this opportunity to say that this is Lambert's second cover that I know of (the first was pre-Idol finale) and it makes me wonder where the winner is? Which kind of brings to mind how AT&T may have swayed the votes and perhaps the wrong person really did win... Oh, and I love the Rolling Stone cover - it's yummy.

Alba Bad Girl

According to TMZ, actress Jessica Alba defaced public property in Oklahoma City while filming in the area with posters of sharks to increase awareness for great white sharks. How do they know? Because of these pictures found on the Web:

Police are investigating the situation, another TMZ article says. Alba allegedly defaced a bridge, electrical boxes and a United Way poster. The biggest problem is that the posters aren't coming off.

Get Over Yourself 6

The Hills stars Heidi and Spencer Pratt tie for Get Over Yourself number six. The pair who quit the new reality show I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here off-and-on about three times, now is creating more drama about the show. Apparently, according to People magazine and various other publications, the newlyweds had to stay in a dark room with just rice, beans and water for 3 days. The various articles have different details, view the links to view those stories. Apparently now the Pratts plan to sue the network (NBC) and Heidi was in the hospital after being "tortured" with some type of infection. I guess you read a contract before you sign it.... Get over yourselves.

I guess when you aren't the center of attention anymore, you have to make up stuff for people to notice you. Take reality TV star, Tila Tequila for example. I was Tila's Myspace friend before she was even famous, but I haven't heard anything about her since she stopped doing her Shot at Love show on MTV. Today she blogged on Myspace to clear up rumors, including one about pregnancy... I was like, where did this come from? Apparently, herself. I Googled the topic just to find this Daily Stab article where Tequila had tweeted about the pregnancy and then deleted it. Apparently not fast enough. Get over yourself. And stop starting your own rumors...

Missed Paris' BFF?

If you missed the first episode of "Paris Hilton's New BFF 2" on MTV, check it out here at Mtv.com! I don't really have any favorites yet. Most of them seem stuck up, fake or bitchy. I guess time will tell. Check out the cast here. The guy is kind of cute, but he's a huge wimp. Future episodes will be shown on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on MTV.

Jackson with Children

Michael Jackson was seen with his unmasked children as they headed to a L.A. recording studio. It isn't often you get to see the pre-teens without their faces covered, but pictured here, they seem to have turned out nice. :-) To see a couple more photos of Prince and Paris, click here. Heidi & Spencer Quit New Show

The Hills stars Heidi and Spencer Pratt quit new reality show I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! Surprise, surprise. Who isn't sick of these two?

Apparently the couple threatened to leave the show twice and then ultimately decided to quit. According to US Magazine, Spencer's typical - yet pathetic - behavior won't be missed by other contestants. Best of all, as the article says, Heidi defends her husband's actions by explaining that he's a "very new" Christian. Hilarious!

To make the story better, TMZ reports that Spencer demanding having a script because he wasn't a reality star -- he was on The Hills! Um, although it is common knowledge that The Hills is scripted, isn't that suppose to be a "reality show?" Are you laughing yet?

The last bit of news is that Daniel Baldwin is going to replace the over-reported couple according to People magazine.

I kind of have mixed feelings about this video. I love song -- especially this remixed version of it that The Pussycat Dolls used for the official video, but as usual it is being increasingly obvious that Nicole Scherzinger is taking over the group. After all she is like the only Doll shown in like the first minute of the entire video. I don't understand Doll creator Robin Atkin's fascination with Nicole. The other Dolls can sing too, you know...
